Indore MC urged to identify specific locations for political publicity displays

The Chairman of the Indore Municipal Corporation and the Mayor-in-Council members have called for identifying locations in the city where political publicity displays may be permitted. Further, the urban local body may charge a fee on such displays.

It is suggested that 30-40 locations may be identified for this. However, the Mayor-in-Council stressed upon the need to ensure the safety of pedestrians and moving traffic while permitting the display of publicity displays on the streets.

Earlier this month, the MC had swooped down the political publicity displays in the city that was hampering the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the state. Those displays were all unauthorised.
