NDMC has spotted a few illegal hoardings, LED/LCD boards without permission and oversized shop signages in the areas under its jurisdiction

North Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has warned and issued a notice to the shop owners for installing illegal hoardings, LED/LCD boards without permission and oversized shop signages.

According to NDMC, there is a violation of Delhi Outdoor Advertising Policy, 2017 as it has spotted a few illegitimate installations in the areas such as Khan Market and Connaught Place, which comes under its jurisdiction.

The notice issued by NDMC states, “All advertisements in the NDMC area are governed by the provisions of Delhi Outdoor Advertising Policy 2017. In case of violation, any unauthorised advertisement will attract penalty for each day, the amount of which will be decided by the NDMC Chairman. Accordingly, the competent authority has approved the penalties may be levied on devices, (LCD, LED), flex signage, installed outside shops without permissions or beyond sanctioned size”.

It is expected that the council might ask for extra payments other than fixed rates from the violators.
