Hindustan Publicity bags SDMC Central Zone street furniture contract

The OOH firm has won the rights on 4,878 sq.ft of advertising space for the duration of 7 years; the contract has been awarded on BOT basis wherein the OOH firm shall construct and renovate high-quality street furniture and maintain them

OOH media owning firm Hindustan Publicity has enhances its bouquet of media formats by bagging the exclusive media rights on street furniture in South Delhi Municipal Corporation’s (SDMC) Central Zone, a premium zone of the capital city. The OOH firm has won the rights on 4,878 sq.ft of advertising space for the duration of 7 years. The contract has been awarded on BOT basis wherein the OOH firm shall construct and renovate high-quality street furniture and maintain them in the contractual period.

On the rights win, Ritesh Vasudeva, CEO, Hindustan Publicity, said: “We are glad to acquire this contract for providing quality street furniture media against advertising rights in the heart of South Delhi. The stretches include premium roads like Lala Lajpat Rai Marg from Moolchand to Nehru Place, Lodi Road from Nizamuddin to India Habitat Centre and JLN Stadium Road near Sai Baba Temple. The touch points cover prime business hubs of Nehru Place & Scope Complex; educational institutions like Lady Shriram College & Dayal Singh College; Intercontinental & Aman (Lodhi) Hotels, shopping destinations of GK-1 M & N Blocks, Khan Market, Meherchand Market, Defence Colony, etc.; leisure & recreational destinations of India Habitat Centre, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as well as prime residential areas on these stretches”.

Under the contract, Hindustan Publicity will renovate and operate/maintain 6 public conveniences and 3 vending booths on the above stretches covering 1,938 sq. ft. of advertising space. The space at the Vending Booths can also be converted into product display areas, which is a first such initiative in the SDMC area. The remaining 2,940 sq.ft. can be utilised on street furniture items like FSPs, police booths, dustbins, benches, advertisement panels, MUPIs (mini unipoles).

SDMC has given the concessionaire the right to interchange the advertisement spaces between the street furniture items (except public conveniences & vending Booths) and not restricting the advertisement on that particular item, through they would continue to maintain that particular street furniture item without any advertisement. “We are developing state-of-the-art backlit MUPIs of 12’x6’ for advertisement purposes which would have clutter-free, left-hand side visibility. For the remaining street furniture items, we are renovating and upgrading them and would be maintaining the same whereon we would be displaying SDMC’s civic and health messages,” said Ritesh.
