GoaMiles keen to tap cab-top DOOH media business

By Pray Jani - January 07, 2020

With the Goa state govt expressing interest in DOOH and with no other players currently operating in the state, GoaMiles, the regional cab hiring app, is keen to leverage the opportunities in cab-top DOOH media.

The Commissioner of Corporation of City Panjim (CCP), Sanjit Rodriguez, recently expressed his interest in introducing DOOH media, which he thinks would fit well with cab-top media. Goa state currently has a regional cab-hiring  app called GoaMiles, running about 3000 cabs circling throughout the day and providing a wide network for cab advertising in the state.

Sachin Bhavsar, the Founder and Director of Sales- GoaMiles, said talking about the opportunity to introduce DOOH on his organized network, “Surely, digital media is making advertisements more attractive to the eyes. Advertisement requires innovation and DOOH is grabbing all the attention owing to its innovative concept.” He added that DOOH was feasible and measurable on cab-top media.

Since Goa has not permitted any national-level ride-hailing operators in the city, GoaMiles is the only one of its kind functioning in the state. Additionally, local cab networks available have poor organizational structure and earlier attempts in media such as cab wraps were not fruitful due to various reasons, thus making GoaMiles the top choice.

Also, transit media options like bus and cab wraps are scarce in Goa. Cab-top media is likely to become the top and perhaps the best transit media space in the state. With the pro-DOOH approach of the government, this technology can possibly make a big impact and be well accepted by top OOH spending categories in the city like casinos, jewellers and resorts.
