Delhi High Court has given the Municipal Corporations of
Delhi two months to execute the 2007 Outdoor Advertising Policy and remove all
illegal hoardings, billboards and posters in the capital city. National dailies
have reported that the court has warned of action against the commercial
officers if the order is not complied with.
The court has specified that its direction to implement the
policy must include any site offered on tender in violation of the policy.
The High Court order came on a
bunch of petitions challenging those advertisement hoardings, banners, posters
and billboards are being put up on residential buildings in a violation of the
policy and act.
