TDI International which holds the ad rights at this airport is planning to put up digital media assets including 4 video walls

Even an India’s civil aviation sector experiences unprecedented passenger traffic growth, the non-Metro airports are gearing up for accelerated traffic growth through infrastructure modernisation. Many of these airports have also become preferred advertising destinations, giving the firms that hold the ad rights a big boost in business. The recent unveiling of a modern Terminal 3 at the Cochin International Airport is a case in point. This airport is today the fourth largest in the country, behind the international airports in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, with a total built-up area of 2 million sq. ft for commercial operations.

The Cochin airport’s growth is in tandem with the expansion of the city of Kochi and its contiguous areas. Jatinder Singh, Senior Vice President of TDI International which holds the ad rights at this airport, observes that “Kochi is the financial capital of Kerala. Huge investments are flowing into this city, especially from the Gulf Countries. Now with the expansion of the International Terminal this airport has become even more important for us as well as for advertisers.”

The airport offers a wide variety of display opportunities to the advertisers. TDI International has deployed sites of varied sizes such as 60/20, 100/10, 45/15, etc. While talking about the media expansion, Jitendra stated, “Currently we are offering a bouquet of static sites for different kinds of visibility and budget. And for international clients, we will be coming up with digital media as well. We have plans to install at least 4 video walls, out of which two will be seen pretty soon”.

Fashion & lifestyle and jewellery have been two major spending categories at the Cochin airport. Currently, Cochin airport caters to 63.86% of the total air passenger movement in Kerala.
