‘Animals are no less’ communicates PETA India out & loud

By Bhawana Anand - November 18, 2019

Campaigning for two months, PETA India takes up different issues related to animals exclusively on OOH in association with The Media Ant

PETA- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals India working towards the safety of animals takes the outdoor route to create awareness aiming to establish and protect the rights of all animals. In association with The Media Ant, the welfare group has rolled out consecutive two outdoor campaigns talking about different issues in metro cities such as Bangalore, Mumbai. Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad, targeting the masses of all segments. The multiple sites taken in various cities have got hard-hitting messages, not only to attract attention of the masses but also to create sentiments towards different species of animals.

First campaign launched in the month of October was in honour of World Vegetarian Day (1 October), Gandhi Jayanti (2 October), and Vegetarian Awareness Month (October), PETA India presented some food for thought for people courtesy of billboards that show a cow, a goat, and a chicken urging, “#EndSpeciesism”. The national campaign was to denounce the belief that – despite their extraordinary talents, abilities, and intelligence – all other animal species are inferior to our own and that it’s acceptable to exploit them.

“From humans to hens, all animals are made of flesh and blood, feel pain and fear, desire freedom, love their offspring, have unique personalities, and value their own lives,” says PETA India Campaigns Coordinator Ayushi Sharma. “PETA India is encouraging people across the country to fight speciesism by valuing all animals for who they are as individuals, not for the ways they can be exploited.”

The second campaign ‘Drinking Liquid Beef’ launched this month in honour of World Vegan Month (November) and just in time for World Vegan Day (1 November), PETA India has placed a local billboard showing a bottle of milk labeled with the brown dot indicating “non-vegetarian food”,  since the dairy industry supplies animals to be killed by the beef industry.

“When cows’ and buffaloes’ milk production wanes, they’re often sent to slaughter and chopped up and sold as beef – so ethically, there’s nothing vegetarian about a glass of milk,” says PETA India campaigner Radhika Suryavanshi. “This World Vegan Month, PETA India is urging everyone to opt for delicious, creamy dairy-free milks made from soy, nuts, oats, or other plants.”
