In the outdoor advertising domain, Thought Shows & Events Pvt Ltd organises the annual Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC), the largest such event in India, as well as OOH Talks! conferences in different regional markets in the country.

Founder & Managing Director
After completion of his MBA in Marketing, Vasant plunged into the world of Media and Publishing where he has now spent an extensive period of 29 years. With the passion to do something different, lead Vasant to work in niche and specialized areas, where it was always a challenge to make things happen. Initially he worked in the area of Rural Marketing, in a company called VOW. Also he was intricately involved in the POP business at RAMMS. After this, Vasant’s entrepreneurial streak made him start his first venture called Spur, to which he dedicated 7 years to create established company and moved on to yet another start, called VJ Media Works. VJ Media Works is a publishing house and is also into events related to marketing at retail, OOH advertising and so on. It has been 16 years now and VJ Media Works has become a respectable and known brand under his leadership.
Rajiv Raghunath joined VJ Media Works as Managing Editor in April 2014 to drive the company’s media & publishing activities. He has spearheaded several media, publishing and content businesses over the last 20 years. Rajiv began his career in 1994 with The Economic Times. He later joined The Financial Express and wrote extensively on business and management. In 2000, Rajiv joined Indiabulls as Associate Vice President (Content) to set up a content and research division. Later he moved to Chandigarh and spearheaded the launch of The Financial World, a business daily.
In 2004, Rajiv joined exchange4media as Associate Editor, and later moved to Evalueserve, one of India’s leading KPOs, to set up 24x7 editorial operations to support a global investment bank. He founded content services firm Wellversed Media in 2009. Rajiv has also served as Managing Editor of network2media, and Chief Business Officer of Bangalore-based content firm India Syndicate. He holds master’s and M.Phil degrees in International Studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and is also an alumnus of St Joseph’s College, Bangalore.
Surender has over decades of experience in the Indian Retail Industry in Brand Activation, Strategic Retail Planning, Retail Marketing, Store Planning, Store Design, Visual Merchandising, and Store Roll-Out management, Writing, Training and Teaching.
Post his career of serving in the Short Service Commission of IAF as a Flight Lieutenant in a missile squadron, he switched to the Retail Design Industry to follow his passion of design and its business application. His experience in this domain spans across many national and international brands and retail formats as Design Head at retail consulting agency RAMMS India Pvt. Ltd, AVP Store Planning & Visual Merchandising at Shoppers Stop, VP Store Development at Reliance Retail Lifestyle vertical, Executive VP Marketing, Brand Experience and Store Development at Mahindra Retail Pvt. Ltd. He is currently an independent senior consultant for Retail Experience.
Surender pioneered VM&RD, India’s first exclusive magazine for Retail Design and Visual Merchandising and currently is the Consulting Editor for the same. He has also been a part of In-Store Asia for more than a decade and has contributed as a member of the planning and managing committee of this event, the convention, VM&RD Retail Design contest and the VM Challenge which he helped conceptualize and anchor. He has also been a member of the Jury for VM&RD Retail Design Awards for many years.
At the industry level, Surender has been associated with the Retailers Association of India and has significantly contributed as a resource for training and workshops and contributions to its magazine STORai. He has been actively involved in teaching as a guest faculty, in the subject of retail management, at various Management and Design institutes in India and Dubai. He is also an invited speaker at various national and international retail forums.
Nimisha Shah joined VJ Media Works back in 2005, previous to which she had completed a small stint with an export house. Since then, Nimisha has handled event sales and with time has been given the onus to also handle the Publication sales. Her focus and aggressive approach gave VJ Media Works great mileage, and is now managing business in North & West zone with a team of 10 people. In 2010 she joined the management team of VJ Media Works.
