Driving innovation in retail design

Sanjay Puri, Principal Architect, Sanjay Puri Architects and Ken Nisch, Chairman, JGA, USA shared some of the most exciting retail work done by their respective firms. While Jo Pennycuick, Founder and MD, Redesign Group, NZ concluded the day by sharing the best practices adopted by her organization in interior design and graphics.


One of the interesting sessions towards the fag end of Day 1 at In-Store Asia 2015 was "Driving Design Innovation with New Materials”. Two eminent speakers who gave their valuable inputs were Sanjay Puri, Principal Architect, Sanjay Puri Architects and Ken Nisch, Chairman, JGA, USA. Both the speakers shared some of the most exciting retail work done by their respective firms in the most exotic locations around the world.
 
Sanjay Puri Architects has evolved innovative design solutions that are contextual and sustainable at the same time. Creating spaces that are exhilarating to experience and also functional at the same time, is the essence of the firm's design philosophy. Established in 1992, Sanjay Puri Architects have a firm strength of 72 people with projects in India, Mauritius, Montenegro, U.A.E and Spain.
 
Ken Nisch's JGA has grown to become a global leader in brand strategy and retail design, working with clients including The North Face, GM, H&M, Whole Foods Market, Big Bazaar, Westside, LP Jeans, Future Group, Cacau Show (Brazil), and Fantasy World (Kuwait).
 

Wrapping up the session for the day, Jo Pennycuick, Founder and Managing Director, Redesign Group, New Zealand shared the best practices adopted by her organization in interior design and graphics. It included the practices that ensure budget, time and quality compliance in project delivery.  
 
With expansive work in the food and beverage and retail sectors throughout the world, Jo leads teams located in India and Bahrain to service the Middle East and Vietnam for South East Asia. Redesign had developed a first major food court at Mumbai International Airport in 2008. Speaking about this, she said, "Partnership is the key part of any business.”
 
Redesign has worked with Indian brands like Odyssey, Malgudi Days, ITC Maurya Hotel, Chinawall Express and many more. Jo also gave the credit to her team's work that enables Redesign to deliver best price quality and makes impossible possible.
