Panjim city commissioner all for green OOH

By Pray Jani - December 20, 2019

No new licenses for hoardings in the city; digital OOH formats will be encouraged

Goa is a state that thrives on tourism, and hence maintaining the cleanliness of the city is pivotal to the local administration. Sanjit Rodriguez, who took over as the Commissioner of the Corporation of City of Panjim earlier this year, is bringing to bear his background in waste management to make the city cleaner and greener.

The Commissioner plans to make the pole kiosk ad formats in Panjim plastic free, and will not issue any further licenses for hoardings. “I believe that advertising should be subtle and not loud. Moreover, the outdoor industry is responsible for the beatification of the city, and the city is tired of hoardings, which is why I will not be giving any license for hoardings anymore. I would encourage digital media in the city, and preferably the digital cab-top media,” said Sanjit Rodriguez while speaking about his stance on OOH advertising in the city.

Sanjit Rodriguez believes that cab-top media is innovative and will draw more eyeballs to the advertising. In a tourism-centric state like Goa, Panjim could engage Goa Miles, a government operated application to book cabs. Being digital, the media is also more eco-friendly.
