Mugil Media Network goes mobile for AIADMK, MDMK in TN

By VJ Media Bureau - April 30, 2014

Due to the free movement of these mobile vans everywhere, awareness and quick recall value were generated with high profile exposure for the parties.

Mugil Media Network, the outdoor agency from Tamil Nadu, recently executed an exhaustive mobile van campaign for political parties like All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), the ruling party of the state led by Tamil Nadu Chief minister Ms J.Jayalalitha, and MDMK which is allied with BJP ,the opposition in Tamil Nadu. The campaign covered the whole of  Namakkal Parliamentary Constituency.

Mobile van format provided a greater degree of flexibility to the entire campaign as this type of advertising format could target the specific routes, venues or events which helped to achieve the attention of the specific determined group of people. The booking period of the campaign was about 26 days.

According to Thiyagaraja R. Co-Partner - Mugil Media, "When every party of the Namakkal constituency were using the old methods of sticking posters on the wall and throwing pamphlets, we with our Mobile van format were able to attract larger crowds. This is because the Mobile van format was new to Namakkal and it's a unique and very unusual in its appearance. This new innovation was very much welcomed by the people everywhere we went. Promisingly, new creative and innovative ideas greatly attracted larger crowds. Though we have various medias (Hoarding, Bus shelter, Centre Medians, Mobile vans, Traffic island and railway station/bus stand branding options) based on the requirement of the campaign in the cities, we suggest the appropriate media.”

Implementing the idea was a challenge for them as they needed prior approval from the Election Commission, and local authorities like the Municipality to grant licence. Also getting approval from the Police and Pollution control was a tough one. Thiyagaraja adds more on this, "The Mobile van format itself is an innovative idea and thus the things associated with this format are also innovative .With proper planning and execution we were able to reach every part of Tamil Nadu. I feel the sixteen years of experience in the field of media agency has made us think  of using many creative and innovative ideas which others have not. When we employed this format for election campaigning, there was a warm reception everywhere and this became obvious by the large crowd that surrounded us. We did this with full vigour and zeal and we strongly believe that it had a very positive and effective impact on the target voters.”
