KSIIDC plans to superimpose CM, Industry Minister on airport road hoardings

By M4G Bureau - March 27, 2017

According to a media report, KSIIDC plans to replace the commercial advertisements with images of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Infrastructure Development Minister RV Deshpande. The KSIIDC viewpoint is that the large commercial outdoor advertising displays are a traffic hazard

The Karnataka State Industries and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC) is reportedly posing fresh challenges to commercial outdoor advertising on the stretch between the trumpet intersection to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) terminal. According to a Times of India report, the KSIIDC plans to replace the commercial advertisements with images of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Infrastructure Development Minister RV Deshpande. The KSIIDC viewpoint is that the large outdoor advertising displays are a traffic hazard, but there is no reasoning offered on why large display of images of CM or industry minister would not be seen as traffic hazard.

The TOI report quotes a KSIIDC official saying: "The existing hoardings are too huge and may be a distraction for motorists driving down the stretch. As KSIIDC wants to ensure a safe drive for KIA passengers, we will advise the airport management to remove hoardings which are too big in size."
