DMRC has invited tender to develop the Neelam Chowk Ajronda Metro station on Line 6 which will unleash a gamut of retail, advertising and other commercial opportunities

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited bids for the development of the Neelam Chowk Ajronda Metro station thereby opening up new advertising, retail and other commercial opportunities at the station. The outdoor formats have not been decided upon.

The project site is situated on Line-6 Extension (Badarpur – Faridabad corridor) of Phase-III of Delhi MRTS Project and Ajronda is an elevated Metro station. The station lies in proximity to the Delhi - Agra Highway (NH -2) and is accessible by road from all areas in Sarai, Badarpur and Faridabad.

As part of DMRC’s Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS), the leasing has been envisaged to generate up-front and recurring revenues to DMRC to supplement its non-fare-box collections in the operation phase.

DMRC has planned property development at Neelam Chowk Ajronda MRTS station along with operating facilities for commuters. The station will have retail and commercial space on various floors which is proposed to be leased out for specified purposes as detailed in the tender document. “Being located in the commercial sector of Ajronda, Faridabad, the project site has an excellent opportunity to become an important commercial hub within this locality. With separate access being available for the commercial areas and parking space, prominent and spacious frontage, and a captive commuter base, these floor areas will present a unique opportunities for retailers and advertisers. As the proposed built up area for property development is planned at the footprint of the station building, the building plan approvals from local bodies are not required,” informed a source from DMRC.
