BMTC floats exclusive short-term ad rights for 200 Volvo buses

The contract will be awarded for a period of five years

Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) invites bids for the grant of sole media rights for the display of commercial advertising on 200 (Vajra and Vayu Vajra) city Volvo buses under their jurisdiction to an advertising agency or company or firm that fulfils the selection criteria. The selection of tenderer will be based on the highest amount offered per bus per month excluding taxes in the bidding process.

The licensee will be given one-month rent free lead period from the date of agreement for all 200 Vajra and Vayu Vajra Volvo buses operating throughout the city to the airport and the payment by the tenderer shall start from the 2nd month onwards.

Advertising space available inside the buses includes grab handles, backside panel of the driver seat (4 sq.ft.) and back of the passenger seats, whereas the exterior advertising area comprises 500 sq. ft. exterior body wraps including doors on both the sides (except wind and wall glasses) and back side (except rear glass) excluding the space reserved for BMTC logo, vehicle registration number and depot particulars.

The last date and time for submission of the bid is March 6th, up to 11.00 hrs. The financial bid opens on March 8th and goes on up to 15.30 hrs. The details of the terms and conditions have been given under www.eproc.karnataka.gov.in

Commenting on this tender, Bailappa M. Biradar, DTO, Commercial - BMTC, informs that the earnest money deposit (EMD) has been fixed at Rs 20 lakhs and the security deposit is equivalent to the rental for six months. The period of contract shall be up to 5 years from the date of agreement, he adds.
