AAI expected to announce rebate plan for airport media owners in next 10-15 days

The airport media owners federation made representation to AAI seeking financial aid to support the business amidst pandemic

In an exclusive conversation with Media4Growth, ED-Commercial, Airports Authority of India (AAI), K L Sharma shares that the management is considering the points presented by the airport media owners for licensee fee waive off for April and May months, which saw complete lockdown. The airport operations were complete stopped with the announcement of nationwide lockdown in March till 25th May. 

The Federation of Airport Media Owners (FAMO) had made a representation to the airport authority requesting to waive off the license fee for the months under the Force Majeure clause and some relaxation in the percentage of the license fee for the next few months. 

“The current crisis has affected all parties including other concessionaires and airport authority as well, where the authority is bearing a loss of hefty revenue”, added Sharma. 

Talking about estimated timeK L Sharma gave a hint that the final decision is expected between 10 and 15 days by the AAI management.
