The OOH campaign, executed by Century Group of Companies, cautions passengers about fake currency notes and how to identify them

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) recently rolled out a mass awareness campaign at the Patna Railway Junction to caution people about fake Rs 500 currency notes in circulation and how to identify them. The campaign also educates people on the advantages of saving money through bank deposits. Century Group of Companies which holds the sole advertising rights at the Patna Railway Junction executed the campaign.

About the campaign, Manoj Kumar Verma, Regional Director for Bihar & Jharkhand, RBI, told Outdoor Asia, "This is a basic awareness campaign and we want all these important messages to go to the common people. Thus we selected such a junction where there is maximum footfall and we all know that lakhs and lakhs of people everyday cross the Patna Railway Station. It is necessary for the common man to understand these issues and take judicious decisions. For such a location like this it was very important for us to identify the vantage points so that the messages attract maximum number of eyes, so we have put up the communication on all the platforms, on top of railway ticket reservation counters, etc.  We started with Patna and in the future RBI will roll out such campaign in other cities as well.”

Shashi Kumar Chaudhary, Director and Partner, Century Group of Companies, said: "This a pilot project undertaken by RBI to make people aware about fake notes and frauds. All the displays are non-lit, using GSB and LED media.”

The campaign will run for six months and can be extended further.
