BJP showcases NDA Govt initiatives on OOH canvas in UP

By Satarupa Chakraborty - September 27, 2016

As a prelude to the State Assembly Elections in Uttar Pradesh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) goes big on OOH across the state with a large campaign. Ghaziabad-based Saffron Communications has executed the campaign.

In the lead-up to the high-voltage Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Elections, BJP has launched a massive OOH campaign in the state that turns the spotlight on some of the NDA Government’s flagship programmes like the ‘’Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’’ and Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana’’. Saffron Communications, a venture of Midas Group, has executed the OOH campaign in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The OOH agency undertook extensive planning to deploy the campaign at the entry and exit points of cities, and in particular markets, hospitals, district courts, colleges, universities etc.

Commenting on the campaign execution, Nagesh Dhar Mishra, Director, Saffron Communications, said, “We have tried to incorporate at least 10 sites in each district for this campaign to create high visibility. In major towns, we mostly used hoardings while in B and C towns, we used a mix of unipoles and wall wraps.”

Saffron Communications used mainly large formats like hoardings numbering some 750 units, unipoles, and wall wraps to build high visibility for the campaign. Starting from May this year, the campaign covered over 2 lakh sq. ft media space, and will run till February next year.

Mishra added, “We do have law and order issues in certain towns of UP but we stuck to municipality-approved tendered sites. However, we faced challenges like protests from the ruling Samajwadi Party in towns like Allahabad, which we of course we tackled.”
